American Indian Studies

College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences

The American Indian Studies Minor provides students with an interdisciplinary curriculum to grapple with Turtle Island and Abya Yala’s (what is now called the Americas) past, present, and future. Though our approach is hemispheric we explore global Indigeneity and how “Indigenous” is defined and shaped by communities, individuals, and settler governments. Courses are taught by experts in History, Anthropology, Law, Agricultural, Art History, English, and more.
